iTunes for Android: Top 5 Solutions

younity’s Top 5 Ways to Get iTunes for Android

So you decide to venture beyond the world of Apple into Android territory. Everything seems to be going fine at first. That is, until you realize that your entire music collection exists on iTunes. Panic ensues as you scramble to download an iTunes app in the Google Play Store. Alas, it’s nowhere to be found! There is no iTunes for Android app! Your heart sinks when you finally accept your fate.

But wait! It doesn’t have to be like this. See, we knew this was going to be a problem. That’s why we thought ahead and compiled a list of the five best ways to get iTunes for Android. While there isn’t an iTunes app available in the Google Play Store, these five alternatives will help put your mind at ease. No need to worry, younity has your back!

5.) AirDroid: File Transfer/Manager  iTunes for Android

AirDroid is a file-manager desktop application that let’s you “manage your phone from any computer, anywhere”. It works well for managing your phone’s SMS, calls, and app notifications from your computer. Unfortunately, it requires a manual drag and drop method for transferring your iTunes music into your phone. This can get pretty tiresome if you have a lot of music to transfer. It also doesn’t maintain your iTunes playlists that you probably spent hours curating. Another thing to consider is that AirDroid requires a $1.99/month premium service if you want to transfer 1GB at a time. Otherwise, you’ll have to transfer your songs in smaller portions.

4.) doubleTwist Sync iTunes for Android

doubleTwist – Sync is more iTunes-centric than AirDroid and creates a two-way street between your phone and your desktop. That way you can move music and playlists from your iTunes onto your phone and vice versa. doubleTwist is great if you don’t mind plugging in your phone to sync iTunes every time you get new music. However, if you want to go wireless you need the AirSync add-on that costs $4.99.

3.) TunesGo by Wondershare iTunes for Android

TunesGo is another drag-and-drop option that offers full-library syncing and keeps your playlists intact. TunesGo also has the added benefit of “cleaning up” your music by adding missing album artwork, deleting duplicate songs, and fixing music tags like misspelled artist names or incorrect genres. They’ve yet to offer a wireless or automatic sync addition to their app, so you still have to manually plug in your phone and sync that way.

2.) iSyncr iTunes for Android

What iSyncr lacks in beautiful user-interface, it makes up for in simple pragmatism. iSyncr works with both wired and wireless file transferring. For a wireless sync, you need to input your computer’s IP address and it will automatically scan your library. It doesn’t look particularly pretty, but it gets the job done. If you want a no-frills file transfer, iSyncr is probably your best bet. Just keep in mind if you have multiple iTunes accounts, you’re going to need to purchase the $5.99 iSyncr Pro in order to compile them.
